About the room
Looking for a queer or queer-friendly person to share my home in the West End! It’s a super central location, close to bus routes, and just a short walk away from Wolseley. The street is lined with beautiful character homes and old streetlamps, and the neighbourhood has a relaxed, community vibe.
It’s a three-bedroom, two-bathroom house I bought in 2023, and it’s a great setup—for $1,200/month, you’d have two private rooms to yourself: a large bedroom with a closet, plus a smaller room right beside it that’s perfect for a home office or creative space. Ideal if you work from home or just want a bit of extra room! There is also a basement bathroom with a shower that you can have all for yourself. We’d share the kitchen, dining room, living room, and laundry space. I’ve got the master bedroom and have office space in the basement. All utilities are included in the $1,200/month—heat, hydro, water, wifi, all of it—so no extra bills to worry about.
There are lovely gardens in both the front and backyards (you’d be very welcome to plant things and dig in as much as you want!), and the backyard is great for hanging out in the warmer months. It’s set up with a BBQ and a big table for outdoor dinners.
The photos are from the real estate listing when I bought the house—it still looks the same, just with my furniture instead. My ex-partner is currently in the process of moving out, so things are a bit in flux and the house is half full of boxes. That’s why I haven’t included updated photos yet. But between their move-out date (April 1) and when I’m looking to rent (May 1 or later), the place will be reset and feeling like home again.
If this sounds like your kind of place, reach out—I’d love to hear from you!
About the roomies
I moved to Winnipeg from Vancouver in 2023 and I honestly love it here. I work in marketing and mostly work from home, though I head into the office now and then. I’m friendly, laid-back, and pretty low-key day to day. Empathy and compassion are big values for me—I try to see the best in people and create a home where others feel comfortable and respected.
I went to school for writing, and it’s still a big part of my life. Outside of that, I’m into wildlife photography, camping and just being outdoors whenever I can. If that all sounds like a good fit, I’d love to hear from you!
