About the room
It’s a townhouse with 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. The 3 available bedrooms are different, and each could be suitable for 1-2 people. The prices for EACH bedroom ranges from $1,400 - $1,800 + utilities / month; internet and hydro ARE included. Deposit is 1/2 of the room price.
While I’m open to all ages, the primary roommates should be 19 years old or more, and I prefer roommates who have had at least one more experience renting with roommates. As for pets and others who may be staying with us (e.g. child, partner, etc.) please consider how everyone may get along together in the long-term. Must be tidy, cooperative, and flexible.
Common Areas + Amenities: The main entrance is on the ground floor, back exits to the patio and courtyard, and there is a door to the garage in the basement. There’s a coat closet, kitchen, and living / dining area on the ground floor. The washer and dryer are in the basement, and nearly brand new. Same goes for kitchen appliances. The bathroom on the second floor has a bidet too.
Every floor has an extra closet for storage and each room has a closet too. There is no air conditioning, but I’ve been told that previous tenants installed them in windows or used fans in their rooms. I personally have not felt the need for cooling, yet.
There are stairs, inside and outside the townhouse, which make it less than ideal as a place to live for someone with mobility challenges. However, it is somewhat accessible for visitors with a couple of accommodations, e.g. they would need go through the garage to use the downstairs bathroom and come in through the back patio to avoid steps and access the main floor.
The Location:
- Getting around - Near 401 & Islington, very close to highways 401 & 427; easy access to TTC, MiWay, and York Region Transit; nicely paved streets, pedestrian paths, and bike trails. There’s an underground parking garage ($50/month), visitor parking lot (free), and lots of places to park a vehicle in the residential area. Bicycles may be brought into the semi-private part of garage or back patio.
- Outdoor space - The outdoor patio in the back has some space to flex your green-thumb in the warmer months and BBQ throughout the year. The townhouse also has a bit of a front lawn too. There’s an enclosed courtyard and playground in the back area, which is shared with others.
- Very Near or Pretty Near:
- Eats - Independent and chain eateries, Walmart, Costco, Fresh Value, and other small independent grocers and convenience stores
- Entertainment - Skating rink, community pool, cricket courts, ball fields, playgrounds, Carmine Stefano Community Centre, as well as many access points to trails and parks connected to Humber River. Outdoors - nature galore!
- Bowling, churches, movie theatres, casino, hockey arena, shopping malls, golf, etc.
- Public and private childcare centres - Elementary and secondary schools - Post Secondary Schools: Seneca Polytechnic York Campus, Humber College (Central Michigan University, Polytechnic, Institute of Technology & Advanced Learning, Applied Arts & Technology, “North Campus”), York University, and various “career colleges,” e.g. NAB College, Windsor Career College, City College of Business Health & Technology, etc.
- Lester Pearson Airport
The Other Stuff: With previous tenants being nearly done moving out (done by Jan 9, 2025), the space is somewhat bare right now since they are cleaning and clearing out their belongings. When they are done, it will be freshly painted and incredibly “ready to move-in” but without beds, shelves, and such. I’m ready to furnish and decorate, and would like to get the input of my future roomies before getting started. If you’re too busy or not interested, then I would be happy to step-in as long as we can come to an agreement and split costs. If you’re new to Toronto, I could even help you select for and set-up your room. We will likely split costs on internet and a couch. There’s a table and TV for the common area already. Washer, dryer, and kitchen appliances are all pretty much brand new.
If you’ve read this far and are still interested, yay! If you are already a crew, in need of 3 rooms, then maybe we can strike a deal?!

- NOTE ABOUT PHOTOS - I pulled these off the internet, when the house was staged - It looks more empty now. The kitchen photo makes it appear larger than it really is. But it is a decent size :) *
About the roomies
Currently, it’s just me. I was subletting from a family that was the primary tenant. They are in the middle of moving abroad, which leaves me with the space to fill! I’d describe myself as someone who seems extroverted, but is really an introvert. I can turn it on when needed, but tend towards solo and small group activities. I work downtown and am a caregiver to family that requires travel. Generally speaking, that means I won’t be home much. But when I am home, I very interested in getting to know you better, sharing stories over food, and making the space feel homey :)
