About the room
Hey all!
Seeking (femme/Queer) roommate for January 1st- April 30th. Quiet, clean, and pet friendly.
We are a very loving and friendly family renting a multigenerational (& off-level) style home with a spare well-sized apartment suite downstairs (I live in the other apartment suite downstairs and my mom and brother live in the main area upstairs). We do share an entrance, but you can make full use of the mud-room and also keep some stuff in the garage as well. Parking space available in driveway.
The apartment space just needs its deep-clean (happening this week) and it will be move-in ready by December 30th-31st. Its room is fully furnished (bed, desk with lamp and chair, tv and tv stand, and book case) and its kitchenette is fully furnished (plates, pans, pot, cooking and eating utensils, medium-sized fridge, hot plate, 7-use toaster oven, microwave, and storage.
The space would be all yours. If you wanted to share the space with another student you already know let us know and we can make the living-room into another room with a stand-alone closet divider and split the rent $500 for private room and $400 for living-room room.
What is “all included”:
- Gas, Hydro, Water
- Unlimited high speed internet (Bell Fibe)
- Netflix, Disney+, Prime, MHz+,
- Laundry (The laundry room is downstairs and includes washer, dryer)
Not included:
- your own food
- you must clean your own space
About the area:
- Nestled in Vanier between Overbrooke and Beechwood and along the Rideau river lies Kingsview Park. A very calm and beautiful neighbourhood. Intersections are North River Road and Montreal Road. Our home is on Tudor Place.
- Bus lines (4-6 min walk) = 9, 12, 14, 15, and 18
- bus 7-10 min walk = 19, 7, and 6
- 30 min walk to Rideau/Byward Market
- 45-60 min walk to Elgin
- close to Uottawa, restaurants and shopping stores
- great walking and bike paths
Only a cat or small pet would be allowed, because we are already filled with many rescues upstairs and my cat downstairs.
The available times are : January to April (since January is coming up fast of course we would deduct if the move in time is later). The reason it took us a long time to advertise was because we were not sure if the previous student was graduating this semester or not. They did - yay!
P.s. we advertise to students since it feels more like a dorm and it is a short term rental. But, we are not opposed to considering a non student.
House rules:
- No smoking tobacco/cigarettes inside (cannabis and vapes ok)
- No insane loud noises after 11pm
- No hurting our animals
- Otherwise, live your life ❤️
About the roomies
We are a family of three : mother, brother and sister. Mother works from home, brother goes to Carleton, and I am a young professional working 2 days from home. We also share our family with 9 rescue kitties. Most are seniors. 3 live downstairs with me and 6 live upstairs. Sometimes the back door will be open as they have an outdoor area so they can catch some fresh air. All are very friendly. You are welcome to play with them.
