Unfortunately the apartment is NOT physically accessible as there are 3 flights of stairs to get in and some steps though there are railings. There are fire alarms in each room that beep, speak and flash quite brightly, we are lamp people but big lights are often used for cleaning/cooking, we are night owls but are considerate of sounds at night as we do have downstairs neighbours. We all struggle with mental illness which is sometimes visible and we are very understanding that mental health happens❤️‍🩹 I am allergic to some scents (mainly vanilla) but I am comfortable with incense, I just prefer that scents are discussed prior to prevent me having a reaction as well as sensory needs for everyone!! Cleanliness is very very important to me as i am chronically ill, we currently use a chore chart to aid in this but preferably do want someone who regularly practices personal hygiene as we have had issues with past roommates in this context.

Kaiden: I’m Kaiden(they+them) (leaseholder) ! I am 20 and I am a social service work student at Humber! I am autistic and I have sensory issues !! Something I believe is important when it comes to living with me is the ability to solve differences and communicate when things don’t feel good, I appreciate honesty and openness! I would love to be friends with a new roommate! I often utilize the shared space and I want to be able to do that in unison! while I can fall behind on tasks I do try and keep the home hygienic! I lovvveee having a tea and sitting outside and would very much enjoy a new friend to join me :) Adam: Hey!! I’m Adam! -21 years old! (They/He) I am currently on ODSP while i build a career in tattooing!! I enjoy spending majority of my day hanging out in the living room and I don’t mind a good chat, I really enjoy quietly watching a movie or shared downtime in the living room though too! I am sensitive to smells so I think it is very important to keep our shared spaces tidy&clean! :) I’ll always be down to spend a weekend playing games and drinking every now and again! I do currently smoke weed on the balcony, no smoking in the house at all though, so being 420 friendly is important to me!!

Hi I’m Violet (22 years old she/they), I’m currently enrolled at Durham College for graphic design, and I work at CarQuest selling parts right now!! I’m out of the house quite a bit during the week due to my commute but I will spend time in the living room usually when I am home! Communication is very important when living with me as I am a very anxious person and may need reassurance about certain things.

A little more about the space and what we need from you!! The space is newly renovated but very (randomly) decorated!! There is direct access to the 501 street car within a minute walk, as well as access to both Kipling and Islington station! There is an express bus to and from Kipling that takes about 10 minutes total. there is a 24hr grocery store at the end of the street as well as many shops! It’s a pretty quiet neighborhood and overall enjoyable!! We have an alright landlord who is very prompt at fixing things! There is radiant heat which we don’t pay for that works pretty well and there is coin laundry in the basement.

You!

We have had some difficult experiences with roommates so it’s important we are on the same page in every aspect, we need someone who is willing to commiunicate and does not avoid problems until they are over the top! First and last month’s rent deposit is needed! we would love another student around our age but if that isn’t you and you still think it could work let me know! Pets can be discussed, we do intend to get our own cats but aren’t ready as of right now so discussion is open! We have an application form we would like you to complete:)
