About the room
VIEW ROOM WITH YOUR OWN DECK IN CHARACTER HOUSE IN MOUNT PLEASANT
Available November 1 (or now) for short-term lease until about March 31. (Negotiable term and possibly extendable.)
We have space for one person in a Character Home Near East 14th Avenue and Prince Albert Street in Mount Pleasant, Vancouver.
This is a three-level home in east Vancouver. (Upper, Main, and Lower Levels.) Your room will be on the upper floor with one other tenant in her own bedroom. You have a PRIVATE ROOF DECK with mountain views off your bedroom. (See the first set of photos. I have some art for the bedroom walls.)
The two upstairs rooms share a bathroom with a claw foot bathtub and a den with desk, couch, and wardrobe. (The photos show upstairs, floor plan, and then the main floor.) You have access to the main floor with a full kitchen, living room, dining room, and another bathroom where you can shower. The main floor also houses me, the owner, in my own bedroom. The lower level is a self-contained suite with a quiet couple living there and is not part of your space. The house is on a nice quiet street and has a yard.
You have exclusive use of the upper deck with outdoor furniture. You will have mountain views from Cypress to Seymour and bits of downtown too.
We are fine with a male or female. There will be three people living on the two floors. We are fairly quiet. I’m a 60-ish retired professional male that is young at heart and active in sports and recreation. I like to travel in BC often and also internationally. My 30-something female roommate lives upstairs where you will also have a bedroom. She is a recent Ukrainian immigrant. She works part-time in the SHARED den and is active in her spare time. You can also use the den with a couch and desk.
Sorry, no dogs but you can inquire about a cat.
This is a quiet home. The ideal roommate is respectful and preferably working full time outside the home. We will consider a work-at-home person in the upstairs office and your bedroom and with minimal phone calls and Zoom meetings and no business visitors.
Utilities, internet, and laundry are included.
The house is fully furnished and clutter-free. There is room for one bike outside and a little extra storage in the shared den.
There are shared costs for supplies like toilet paper and cleaners. We have a regular and shared cleaning schedule and maintenance responsibilities like sweeping and taking out the recycling and garbage. There is a gardening opportunity if you’re interested.
There are coffee shops, restaurants, bakeries, and pubs nearby. The one-way street on the next block makes the street very quiet. We are very close to bus lines (8 and 19) Cycling routes are all nearby. Getting downtown is very easy and if you have a car, getting to the major highways (#1, #91, or #99) is fairly quick too. The Google walk score is 86, the transit score is 90 and the cycling score is 99.
This listing is for one person (preferred), however, you can inquire about a partner for an additional $480 per month.
If interested, please tell me a bit about yourself, what you do for a living, working hours, expected cooking/kitchen times, how you will pay the rent, and ask me any questions at the same time. The guidance above is not written in stone so suggest what works for you too. Come for a visit. And thanks for reading it all.
