About the room
I am looking for another woman to help split the bills on my 2 bed 2 bath character home! Currently the second bedroom is unfurnished but I can get a bed, sidetable, clothes rack and/or desk if you wish. I’m in Parkdale so close to the river valley, Coliseum, NAIT, 118 Ave, grocery stores, some cool local shops and restaurants, and transit. Both bedrooms are on the second floor, with kitchen, living room, bonus room, and one bathroom on the main floor. A second full bathroom, laundry, a cold storage room, and a large unused room are in the basement.
There is a two car garage, fenced in front and back yard, and LOTS of trees! If you want to get some gardening done there is definitely space for that!
I just recently bought the place so I’m in the process of doing some improvements, but that also means you would have a say in how everything gets set up. I have no problems with painting and holes in the walls so you could customize your space to your liking! There is some 70s carpet and old linoleum I’m pulling up to match the gorgeous original hardwood that’s in the rest of the home!
I have two cats so would prefer not to take on any more animals.
About the roomies
I’m a 34 year old queer woman who works full time so am out of the house 7:30-5 Mon-Fri and am going to full time online school in the evenings. My life is pretty quiet and I’m a homebody. I’m clean and tidy, but not obsessive about it and recognize that occasionally the dishes get left overnight. I’m a bit of a chatterbox but completely understand and respect boundaries and while I’d love for us to be friends/have the occasional dinner or movie night, it’s totally not a requirement.
I like horror movies, trashy romance novels, and my cats. I smoke but only outside/never in the garage. Not a big drinker, and aside from my dad and a friend swinging by on Saturday mornings for an hour or two I rarely have guests. You are welcome to join us for brekkie and watching seasons of Alone on Saturday mornings if you would like! I’m usually out on Saturday evenings and am gone most Sundays during football season.
Ideally my roommate would be someone respectful who doesn’t blare music or have many guests. It is an old house, the walls are thin, and noise cancelling headphones can only do so much.
