About the room
Hello homeseekers. I understand this is a long shot, but reckon it’s worth putting it out there: looking to share 2-bed 2-bath year-old south-facing 870 sq.ft condo unit in SFU Burnaby Mountain UniverCity neighbourhood. Space will be available beginning 1st of December, but reckon I will take as much time as necessary to find someone who will be an ideal fit and would enjoy each other’s company.
Location is a 3-minute walk to supermarket, Canada Post, and Timmy’s, and 6-minute walk to frequent rapid TransLink bus service to downtown, as well as a Sbux. Endless miles of hiking trails through forests at doorstep.
Roommate has access to one 9’ x 9’ bedroom (with queen-sized bed and bedding and operable window) and private bath with tub. Shared insuite laundry, small kitchen, dining area suitable for remote work, and large balcony within suite. While there is a toaster, dishwasher, microwave, note that the cupboard and pantry spaces are limited. If you cook frequently, this situation would not work for you.
$1200 per month rent is inclusive of utilities and wifi (and per usual 1/2 month security deposit). Signed notarized lease is initially for 3 months trial, and can become month to month indefinitely, if we’re both making each other happy. The relative lowball rent reflects the ostensibly onerous requirements enumerated here. Secured parking within building is additional and depending on availability. However, secured bicycle parking is available, and public bike share station can be found outside aforementioned supermarket. No television or streaming service provided, so bring your own, if you’re into that.
Ideal candidates (of whatever gender you identify is OK) will be as obsessive about cleanliness as myself, and willing to keep the premises spotless and organized (including your own spaces), and also agree to a regular vacuuming schedule (or pay extra for contracted external cleaning service) of common areas, which incidentally, is not air-conditioned. Needless to say, the ability to be articulate, honest, and maintain clear lines of communication are essential, as well as feeling comfortable (if not feign enthusiasm) engaging with occasional guests to the apartment (albeit rare— usually less than once per quarter). Please don’t smoke anything (against strata rules), but we want you to be happy (edibles OK) and show it, despite all these rules for living here.
