The house is a beautiful two-story home in a developing neighbourhood close to bus lines and grocery stores.

The room is spacious and has plenty of sunlight. The picture shows it in an unfurnished state, but it can be furnished at your request; we have a bed, dresser, shelving unit, table, chair, and personal mini-fridge that we could put in there.

Carport parking is available for an extra $50/month.

We are two adult males in our late 30s and one special needs rescue dog (a partially paralyzed border collie/german shepherd mix).

The guys are pretty introverted and generally keep to themselves; one is self-employed and works from home, and the other is out at work 40 hours a week. We like video games, card games, board games, superheroes, sci-fi, and other nerdy things. We do not have guests over often (almost never).

The dog is a rescue with a history of abuse from a previous owner. He suffers from anxiety (for which he is occasionally medicated) and is partially paralyzed, but neither of those things stops him from being territorial and protective of his owner and home. He is distrustful of strangers (especially male ones), and exhibits aggressive reactive behaviour towards people and other dogs.

We need a roommate who loves dogs (but doesn’t have one) and can be sensitive to this one’s needs. We are open to anyone, but please note that the dog is more reactive to men than women. Ideally, we’re looking for someone who has prior experience being around aggressively reactive dogs or someone who loves dogs no matter what their temperament. Finding the ideal candidate who is comfortable living with a reactive dog and is willing to be patient with him is our primary concern when screening people.

The price listed assumes a single adult; for couples, we would charge $1,200 per month. The increased cost would account for more volatile hydro and gas bills, and the added stress it might have on the dog (possibly resulting in needing to use his very expensive anxiety medication more often).
