About the room
Looking for a roommate to share a beautiful character home in the trendy, central Calgary neighbourhood of Inglewood/Ramsay. The central, east of downtown location is UNREAL in warmer months for walking/biking/scootering to places and then also very convenient for cheap ubers etc. when it’s cold. A bus stop is also conveniently less than a block away with the Bridgeland/Memorial C-train station being a 35 minute walk.
Driving distance to frequently asked places would be 15 mins to SAIT, 20 mins to U of C, 15 mins to Mount Royal and 17 mins to airport on a good day 😊
The room in short… It’s currently unfurnished; however, it can be furnished for an additional cost. I’d describe it as bright and cozy. It can fit a queen with bedside table and bookshelf depending on your bed frame. I would add that a double bed does fit better depending on your other room furniture. An east facing window makes the room nice and bright and there’s a very large, tall closet for all your things. You also have a private en suite bathroom with large mirror, east facing window with natural light, toilet, storage containers, and sink.
The house in short… one of the original homes built in Ramsay aka it’s older but has since had upgrades such as adding in a dishwasher and fridge with ice/filtered water and the addition of a loft. Just like any older home, it has its quirks such as no fan in the main bath, so you have to open a window to shower… but the location and price in this economy outweigh the quirks IMHO. Overall aesthetic is modern meets prairie vintage along with various indoor, pet friendly plants. To that, I’d say I’m fairly open minded about additional furniture/items/plants you may have though there’s plenty of indoor and outdoor storage if need be. The loft has a guest bed for friends and is the main “living room” with large sectional and TV. That said, there’s also another TV on the main floor so we can each have space apart when need be.
The place is pet friendly; however, your pet must get along with my senior dog and have it be properly house trained/zero damage of furniture along with yourself being a responsible pet owner. If its not a cat/dog, I’d prefer you kept your animal in your room, but we can discuss other options as need be.
The basement is where the washer and dryer is along with dryer rack and extra closet storage should yo need. Down there is also separate space for your storage items. I eventually plan to have a small at-home gym down there too.
Due to the City of Calgary changing its bylaws in 2024, street parking requires a parking permit that will cost you $45 for the year. I would add that I live on a unique street where I’ve never had to park more than 20 steps away from the house due to neighbours not having vehicles etc. Finally, the backyard is an oasis with year-round BBQ. Perfect for summer hangs with a fire pit along with outdoor furniture to compliment the area and dining table to eat at. Added bonus is that I have an outdoor projector and screen for movies/games along with giant jenga and corn hole😊 New roomie would also get Costco membership.
Let’s see if we vibe and I’ll share with you more details and photos (I’ve taken 45😅) once we make a connection due to privacy reasons 😊 Thanks for understanding.
About the roomies
30, former journalist now in the communications sector. I have a sm-md sized senior rescue dog who is quite timid/keeps to herself. Nearby pubs, board game nights at home or travelling are my jam on weekends/holidays.
Also enjoy golf, playing softball, movie/wine nights, hiking, and in winter I snowboard and curl 🤙🏼
I’m pretty easy going and have great past roomie references. Would say I’m open to most if not all lifestyles/religions/sexual orientations.
