The room for rent is a very large bedroom in the basement of a comfortable 4-bedroom home. It is currently furnished with a queen bed, lounge chair, small desk, and has a wall length closet with built in drawers, shelves and shoe boxes. You have your own private half bath with a walk-in shower across from the room. The kitchen is upstairs and is shared space. There is plenty of street parking available.

The rent is $875 plus half of the utilities (heat, power and broadband). A typical range for half is $100 (current) – 255$ (March), and the deposit is $500.

The house is a comfortable 1950s/60s building with a back yard and pretty, front yard with fruit bearing trees. The house has lots of light, ceiling fans and is close to amenities and transportation. I value quiet and harmony in the house and don’t want parties, drugs, smoking or heavy drinking please. I’m looking for a tenancy of minimum 2-6 months and am happy for a year-long contract to be revisited as we go. The room is available from September 1st.

I’m a former academic, now working in faculty development seeking to share my 4-bedroom house with a considerate, mature working professional, post doc, medical resident, visiting scholar or graduate student.

I am in a hybrid working arrangement, and at the office 3 days per week. I’m also an artist with one of my studios in the basement. My schedule gets hectic but I appreciate quiet and community in equal measure, and am appreciative of others’ needs. I have two sweet outdoor cats (one hyper social and one shy) and a pretty back and front yard with fruit trees (front).
