About the room
Hi! I have a fairly large furnished room in my beautiful home on a quiet green street, super conveniently located near College and Bathurst. $1250/month, all included (Internet, heating/AC, laundry, etc.)
100% score for public transportation:
- Bathurst subway: 7 minute walk.
- Bathurst streetcar: 30 second walk.
- Harbord bus: 1 minute walk.
- Bike Share station: 30 second walk.
Your bedroom is at the top of the stairs on the second floor. It has a big window that looks out over the big tree and backyard oasis, so it feels like a treehouse! There is also a smaller window that lets in even more light. My daughter’s room and my room are also on the second floor.
Main floor kitchen and upstairs bathroom are shared with me and my daughter (when she is there, half the week). There is also a small “powder room” type bathroom on the 1st floor. You also have full use of the living room and dining room on the main floor, as well as the awesome backyard and the small frontyard. (Laundry is in the basement.)
About the roomies
I am a youthful gay dad and I live upstairs with my 11-year-old daughter (and future karate champion!) who is with me half the time. She is in French school. English is my first language and I mostly speak French with her so as to support her schooling.
I am in a long-distance relationship, and I travel a lot - about a week a month on average.
I try to keep the house clean and proper - at least as far as that is humanly possible with a kid and cat. There is a roomba vacuum that helps a lot! It would be nice if you could water the plants and take out the trash when I’m not there. (I will do it when I am there.)
I am moderately scent-sensitive and prefer no incense or strong colognes in the house.
We also have a cute orange kitten, Loki, who usually goes to my daughter’s mother’s house when I am away.
There is a 26-year-old French/Moroccan tenant in the basement. He has his own kitchenette and bathroom, as well as his own entrance from outside. He occasionally comes up to play the piano, but you won’t see him much as he mostly just keeps to himself.
Golden rules: No smoking, tidy up after yourself, respect the house and its inhabitants – especially the kid! It is not a party house, but it is all about being friendly and casual. Respectful guests are welcome.
If this sounds interesting, please let me know a bit about yourself – and don’t hesitate to ask any questions!
