About the room
Water and heat are included in the rent. The other utilities (electricity and internet) are paid by us, and they tend to be around ~$53 per month.
This apartment is great for someone who wants to live in a central part of the city with inexpensive rent. It has excellent bus access, there’s literally a bus stop right in front of the building. The apartment is within walking distance of the University of Winnipeg and downtown. Grocery is just a 5-minute walk from the apartment, and there are at least two others within walking distance.
The room has a closet, a west-facing window, and a heater. It is unfurnished, but the rest of the apartment is fully furnished.
This is a third-floor unit, and there is no elevator. So expect to be using the stairs often. On the plus side, we are on the top floor, so noise from other tenants is very limited.
I am renting a 2-bedroom apartment owned by Sunrex, and I am looking for someone to fill an extra room.
More about the apartment:
- 1 bathroom that we both have access to.
- Dishwasher.
- Air conditioning.
- Free storage locker in the basement.
- Laundry room in the basement. $6 to wash and dry one load.
- Bike parking in the laundry room. It’s relatively secure but other tenants do have access to that room as well.
- Sunrex (landlord) allows smoking in the apartment unit. I do not smoke.
- I have a positive relationship with the resident manager.
The landlord (Sunrex) will require you to submit an application with proof of income. While they do allow pets, I would prefer not to live with pets.
I’m looking for someone who knows how to clean up after themselves and who feels comfortable speaking up when something is bothering them. Please don’t apply if you’re not fully vaccinated against covid-19. If that sounds good to you, then please reach out. I hope we can become friends and enjoy living together.
