I’m looking for a housemate in a home I own and live in. The property is conveniently located near Hwy 102 so commute times are 30 minutes to airport, 45 minutes to downtown Hfx and 25 minutes to Truro. I’ve a good size backyard that backs onto a farmer’s field. This is a three bedroom house, 1 room will remain a guest room while the largest of the three is the one I’ll rent out. The driveway has room for an additional vehicle and there is a laundry room and workshop in the dry, insulated basement. Grocery, hardware, pharmacy etc. are all nearby.

As an artist and piano teacher, I am usually making or teaching at home. My piano students are equal parts children and adults and come to me for lessons for two days a week during the school year (no piano June-Aug). My workshop is in my basement and if you’re a creative, we can make some space for your artistic endeavours too, including your own bench. The majority of my workshop space is dedicated to woodwork and also have paint/finishing space and design/drawing space. Besides working at home, I’m sometimes away teaching courses or attending artist residencies. Outside of my professional life, I have a bright, charismatic daughter that currently lives with her Dad as she prepares for University in the fall, as well as a young, smart, athletic, medium sized dog. I go to the gym 3-4 days a week, eat healthy and enjoy cooking good, healthy food daily. The ideal housemate would also be physically active, cooking healthily and enjoy sharing good meals. I’ve a longtime partner who visits weekly and most often we go to his cottage on weekends. I’ve a good sized backyard to run the dog and that has a small garlic patch (room for garden growth:) and there is a nice wooded trail nearby that you can walk to. There are grocery stores etc. nearby and I’m centrally located so commute times are reasonable - 45 min to Hfx, 30 to airport, 25 min to Truro.
