Melissa's room

A big old house original to it’s neighbourhood on a very busy main street with a yard full of garden beds, a large sunny deck for traffic watching and a fire pit. There is a lake, trail and grocery store within a 5 min walk among many other amenities. Plenty of driveway parking with a bus stop nearby. The room is a decent size and at the back of the house where it’s a bit quieter. It has an eclectic retro vibe and contains a VHS collection and working sega. There’s currently a single trundle bed that can be relocated, a small closet and a dresser. Due to a low stairway only single box springs can go upstairs but a queen mattress can be squeezed up. The house has a small guest bedroom/craft room and our bedroom. There is also usable attic bedroom that’s a work in progress. The basement has work space, tools a weight bench and heavy bag. There’s a living and dining room, closed off kitchen and sun porch. There’s a toilet/laundry room off the kitchen and the upstairs bath has a shower and clawfoot tub. It’s has a wood stove in the winter but eclectic heaters are needed for the bedrooms. It’s has a homey, grandmother vibe.

We are an early -mid 40’s couple with cats. No children. He’s employed full time and interested in world events, science, MMA, working out, gaming (COD, UFC and basketball) and outdoorsy hobbies. UFC on Saturdays is a regular occurrence here. I’m an eccentric personality. Self employed and I’m never far from home. I’m a creator of things in the kitchen and craft wise. I listen to alot of podcasts on world happenings, science and philosophy. I’m always up for learning new things and have incredible work ethic with a can do it myself attitude. Very outdoorsy with a love for gardening and homesteading. Don’t expect me to introduce you to a friend as I don’t really care for having many. Although he’s easy all day long I’m a bit of a force to be reckoned with. I’m also very fussy about my kitchen so it’s best you’re not much for cooking. I’m happy to provide all meals if you’re not a picky eater for an added fee. We don’t own a microwave but you’re welcome to put on in your room and a mini fridge as well. Housekeeping is included in rent but please respectful and pick up after yourself. We enjoy movies, dark comedy, hiking and beaches. I enjoy an occasional dance night but he’s more of a homebody. We’re not religious or party animals, though I occasionally listen to my music loudly and we will talk politics.
