About the room

Room is light and sunny. It’s on the SECOND FLOOR level of a 2-level unit and completely private. It comes furnished, but you can add or replace the existing bed, chest of drawers, rug, desk and whatnot, with your own! No prob🙃

We share all facilities and spaces, apart from your bedroom of course, and my private bedroom, which is on the THIRD FLOOR, together with the 4-piece bathroom. The bathtub is a vintage claw-foot!

The SECOND FLOOR has the kitchen and a small deck, opening from the kitchen. It also has the living and dining area, which I think you’ll find is gorgeous -with lots of natural light, and open open space That area opens on to a sunroom, which is set up as a study/office; that provides a major 12-18 hour light source (depending on our solstice, which is shared!) Street parking is available by City permit. Any other questions, PLEASE FEEL FREE TO ASK.

About the roomies

Just one: me! About me: Quiet, maybe a bit reserved, originally from London, England. . Interests: I’m an avid reader, and also write quite a bit ( published, not yet famous!) I’m also into: music, mostly classical, jazz and folk: All Quiet Stuff! (Radio stations like CBC, CGBC, CJRT and the like)

Addictions: cycling , ping-pong and swimming (and strong coffee: ( 5-6 really excellent coffeehouses a kilometre or less from our door - my fave is Roosters, cos of the specially warm and friendly staff!) Living here might sound like I’m a hermit. Actually, quite the reverse: I’m always popping in and out of the city. How do I get there? My daily movements: At the end of my street ( Bain Ave,) there are streetcar stops both North to the subway station, at Broadview/Danforth. and also South, to wherever I need to get to downtown (5 or 6 in all)

Sometimes I like to take the (3 stop) subway ride from Broadview to Bloor and Yonge. From there, the whole of Toronto is at my disposal 😃.. So I have to invite friends over from downtown or.the West End, to visit me for coffee, or for lunch, and then they’re sold: they still think I’m bright, and not scared to try on new things -like moving out of the hectic pace, and noisy space of downtown!!! I hope that I’m convincing you too, at least to come and view🙏

I’m the only person with whom you would be sharing. Since the unit is on the second and third floors, you’d have to be sufficiently mobile and fit to climb stairs. No elevator! Great involuntary exercise😁. Yes, handrails are installed.

Oh yes, we are close to The Danforth (aka Greektown Village), with literally hundreds of multi-ethnic restaurants, ranging from economical/ thrifty, to very high end (“Fine Dining!” No, there’s no McD’s -but don’t worry, there’s a Subway, and 2 Timmies, -one at each end of the 1.5km. Danforth shopping/dining strip! In addition, we’re right next to: Withrow Park, (with free public tennis, skating and ping-pong , and even a lovely enclosed dog park, so they can meet their pals and make new ones!) ++ and +👍☝️🌹 More? Yes! Don Valley Ravine/Riverdale Park (perfect for congregating, sunbathing, swimming in the large, public swimming pool and water chute (now open for summer!) running on the circuit track,, playing baseball in the diamonds, people-warching, and whatever else you might fancy doing! Literally hundreds of couples and small groups quietly and respectfully get together there, for picnicking, playing, or just hanging out on blankets - it’s truly a unique spot, esp. if ur into watching sunsets over the City. Speaking of which: Downtown is very convenient and close: -by subway, and also by streetcar, from Broadview, ( a short walk up Bain), and by great cycling paths, through the park systems, which take you over the Don, on to Cabbagetown and thence, to Carlton/College and/or Gerrard and Parliament. That possibly sounds complicated but it isn’t: it takes 8-12 minutes (depending on your fitness level and bike🚴!) E-bikes have totally changed the time-scape for getting everywhere -including skipping lightly from Riverdale to anywhere downtown, in an amazingly short space of time. I’m even thinking of buying one myself, for lazy days! Of course you can walk, (30 minutes) or even drive ( 10 - 60 minutes, depending on traffic)

“Et ça suffit”

(I forgot to say I speak French and Spanish, as well as ENGLISH English , not the North American counterparts! since I am an immigrant: -born and raised in the U.K. )

I’d prefer a mature person as a roommate; 22+. But if you’re quiet and clean up after yourself, I’m fine with you being younger👍🤗 Feel free to ask me anything else you might like to know. Looking forward to hearing from you -SOON! Cheers k 🙏
