About the room
Available to rent for short term stay (3-4 months); longer term can be discussed if things go well between us; compatibility and chemistry are important.
*Should be legally employed or enrolled in school.
Furnished room in a home share for a roommate who preferably has a teammate type of personality and isn’t scared/lazy with helping to keep the home tidy….If you grew up sharing household chores or with a group of friends that look out for each other, then we should definitely talk.
My roommate must be clean, mature, peaceful, responsible and pro-active with helping to take care of our home, that’s what I provide from my end also.
Room is a fully furnished closed bedroom in a furnished 4.5 apartment of a 6plex on TOP floor (no neighbors above). This home share is ideal for international students/workers who are travelling light (sorry NO couples, smokers, drugs, parties, guests or sleepovers; I’ve had my fair share of bad experiences so I’d like to keep our home simple peaceful & safe; a “boring” home = a good quality home).
It’s a closed BR with a bed, desk, office chair, dresser, ceiling fan and a spacious 2-level closet that I redesigned myself. Mid size room ideal for ‘travelling light’ ei 2 luggage’s + their laptop.
Summer breeze is very nice, winter is warm and cozy. Bright and luminous. Our rooms are on opposite sides of home so we both got balcony access beside our rooms. Washroom is bright and clean. Washer and dryer are in the kitchen. Nice big clean new fridge. Dining table and living room that are more often used as storage.
The home is cozy, safe, clean, secure, relatively peaceful and quiet, as are most the neighbors.
Rent + Wifi = $600 Hydro = ~$20-$40/month (non winter months) or ~$40-$80/month during winter months (unless you abuse the hot water, heater and oven).
Huge park close by just 2mins walk and ~5mins walk from St. Lawrence River, 3 bike paths, Wellington summer pietons, 2 metros stations (Verdun and De L’eglise less than 8mins walk), 2 buses at corner 58 and 61, grocery stores on Wellington and lots more, all walking distance (google wellington street in Verdun to browse).
This is great living scenario for a very independent person who really just needs a clean quiet safe home to sleep shower rest relax prepare meals & eat. Probably not so suitable for somebody who has a very active social life or is very co-dependent on company.
About the roomies
If you are new to Montreal, I can show you around town, help you with directions etc. I’m friendly, social, generous, helpful but I’ve also lived with +30 roommates over the years ranging from young adults, older adults, couples, guys, girls, lazy’s, crazy’s, dogs, cats, international students, temp workers, refugees; u name it. Most have been good experiences few that were bad so I know what I like and what works well, hopefully you do too! I use to love sharing meals with roommates, doing groceries together, cooking etc, but over the recent years majority of roommates sorta just stick to themselves, which is fine too. I make really good food and am highly skilled with prepping food to save time energy and money (Ive worked in kitchens so learned lots). Would be awesome if we can team-up for this and I can def teach you how to manage food better than most folks. If you do like hanging out with your roommate, cooking, sharing meals, cracking jokes, socializing, binge watching, I’m totally open to that too. We don’t have to become besties but coming home to good company and good food surely makes life better and easier. Or we can just live in our own separate bubbles like most new age roommates if you’d prefer.
I keep my social life limited to outside my home so I ask you do the same. Home is kept clean so you won’t have to worry about a dirty washroom or kitchen. My “lifestyle” mainly includes adulting; work, working out, work online projects, meal preps, cooking, groceries, binge-watching during winter and catching up with my friends during summer; the normal stuff. For social life; mainly just joining friends for dinner/drinks on special occasions and BBQ cookouts during summer. Just keeping it very simple - you can join us if you’d like!
So if any of this sounds interesting to you, send a shout tell me a bit about yourself and why we would be good roommates, I’ll be glad to respond back in hopes of our next home share experience together. Thanks for reading & good luck!
