Hello there! The place is a two-story townhouse with a small front and backyard on a quiet crescent in South Osbourne Village, Winnipeg. There is ample street parking right outside and nearby; and it’s a quick 5-min walk to the Safeway, the Osborne library & Community Center, and close the rapid transit route & other bus stops. There’s also a community garden just a short 10-minute walk away, and plenty to do in the local neighborhood. In the house itself there’s a washer & dryer, plus a large shared deep freezer and lots of extra storage room in the basement. All the rooms have nice, big windows facing lots of trees. The room for rent faces the front street (East-facing window) and our front yard. The house is semi-pet friendly, that meaning we have a mild allergy to cats and would ideally prefer other pets species in the house. The house might not be the best for any older dogs/pets or humans with mobility challenges as there are a lot of stairs, and the back door is sealed up for the winter to keep the heat in. I have a pet ball python which never leaves my room, so no you will not see it out and around. Aside from his food in my share of the freezer, you’d never know it was there.

P.S. - Renting the room and Putting your name on the lease requires a credit check and/or some proof of income or disability befits (requirement of the property owner). And at this time, I am looking for long-term tenants who could even take over the lease from myself.

Rent is usually close to $550 per month, sometimes up to $625 with Water & Waste and Hydro in the Winter. Yes, it fluctuates in price. Such are the problems with renting a townhouse in the city. We SPLIT the Utility bills, they are not “included”. This includes Water & Waste, Hydro, and Wifi. If you’re someone who showers multiple times a day, then you Will be charged a larger portion of the water bill to compensate.

We are two laid-back folks in their late 30s. Sometimes we eat or hang out together; but mostly we do our own stuff – there’s never any pressure either way! We’ve had some good experiences with roommates in the past from this website and hope to keep that streak going here.
