About the room
We currently have our downstairs room available until January 1st. The house is spacious with storage and communal space. The downstairs bathroom is shared with a couple living in the other downstairs room of the house. The communal space is very spacious and furnished. Your private bedroom has a closet, queen bed, couch, two windows, and a great heater for the winter. The room stays cool in the summer. The kitchen and family room is communal. The house includes a parking space and laundry facilities. It is a beautiful big house with a deck/patio, garden, and barbecue. The house is a two-minute walk to a bus stop and a Grocery store is around the corner. It is a minute’s drive to Lonsdale Ave, an 8-minute drive to Grouse Mountain, and a 5-minute drive to Lynn Valley. We want individuals who are active members of our household and value a communal living space with its’ occupants. This person is willingly able to take on the responsibilities of sharing a home. We also value everyone’s free time and space as well. We open our doors to only trustworthy, responsible, honest, and integral people.
About the roomies
I grew up in this house and I have created an international communal home that I have been running since 2019. This is a place where we all feel like a family together. There are currently 6 people in the house; 3 Canadians, one Slovenian, one Chilean, and one from Mexico. One of our roommates is in Australia until January, and we want to sublet her room until she returns. We need to connect via shared meals, movies, games, social gatherings, outings, and chores. Everyone supports one another. This is more than just filling in a room and paying rent. We personally believe that community living is super important, especially living in this big city. It is easy to become disconnected socially and lose a purpose with people. This is why we have chosen this style of living together. We understand that it is also not for everyone, so that is why we have a month-month rental agreement for both parties to decide if this works for us all. We have a cute cat living with us named Sushi and he is the house mascot :) He takes care of us TBH!
