About the room
A charming room in a quiet neighbourhood. The location is perfect for anyone who wants to be close to the hustle and bustle of downtown Calgary, without sacrificing peace and quiet. You can easily walk or take public transportation to all the major attractions in the city. Despite being situated in an older building, the unit is comfortable and spacious. You’ll have plenty of room to stretch out and relax. The room is not furnished. Heat and water are included. Although the kitchen of the unit is a bit on the smaller side it is still equipped with all the necessary appliances and utensils to cook and prepare meals.
Im looking for a short term individual who will occupy the larger room of the unit for a short lease period (2+ months).
Parking is available on the street, but if you prefer a designated spot, there is one available that I currently use. This spot could be negotiated, depending on your specific needs and preferences.
Neighbours are respectful and considerate. In the year that I’ve lived here, there haven’t been any major events or disturbances. In fact, I’ve had a few guests over during that time and there were no complaints or issues from any of the neighbors. You can rest assured that you’ll be living in a peaceful environment where you can relax and unwind after a long day.
One of the great features I personally enjoy often is the close proximity to Rotary Park located just two blocks away. This park offers stunning panoramic views of the entire city, making it a great spot to relax, exercise, or simply take in the scenery.
I am cannabis-friendly, but smoking inside the apartment is prohibited. Vaping should be fine.
There is also a building caretaker who lives on-site. They are friendly and available to assist with any maintenance needs or concerns.
As for laundry facilities, there is one washer and dryer available in the building, which only accept coins. In the same room there is a locker available for storing any personal items or belongings that you may need to keep secure.
The unit is on the upper floor of the building adding an extra layer to the peace and quiet you will experience.
In terms of transparency, with the unit being located in an older building it’s important to note that there are minor cosmetic imperfections in the unit that do not affect its functionality or overall livability and were already present when I moved in.
As your potential roommate, I want to ensure that your living experience is as positive and comfortable as possible. If you have any specific needs or requests, please don’t hesitate to let me know and I will make every effort to accommodate them. Additionally, if you have any questions or concerns during your stay, I am available to address them. Current roommate is moving back to Saskatchewan by the end of the month.
About the roomies
I’m Eduardo, a 20 year old international student from Ecuador finishing up my last undergrad year in UofC and preparing to go into a masters degree.
I consider myself a quiet person, though I’m open to social events, just not a fan of huge parties. I don’t smoke but do drink in social circumstances and like to keep my spaces clean and organized. I usually clean the apartment once a week and once a month do a deep clean.
I’m not the best cook but I do prepare most of my meals and do my best to clean everything up right after cooking or when I finish eating.
I spend my time working on my independent business, reading, exercising or just relaxing outdoors. I love to read and learn, and I’m currently getting back into making some art. On weekends I usually spend time with my friends that live on campus, do a hike, train or just relax. I very rarely invite people over, but have no problem with the occasional house party.
Although my schedule is not super strict I do prefer the house to be quiet at about 11pm so I can wind down and relax (of course with the exception of social events).
I’m willing to team up with my roommate so our experience living together is positive and painless, so I would love to become friends and get to know you better.
Although I rarely do Cannabis I have nothing against it. Just keep everything tidy so there are no strong lingering smells.
To me, communication is key so let me know if you will have any plans at our place or you need something. Also punctuality in payments is fundamental.
I expect my roommate to also be tidy and not too loud. I’m willing to share everything in shared spaces if that is the case. (I didn’t enjoy my previous roommate eating on my couch and being super loud playing videogames until late at night).
I’m also sensitive to strong smells so ventilating while cooking is appreciated.
I don’t have particular preferences other than that.
I’m looking forward to answering any questions and getting to know you better!
