About the room
2-bedroom apartment on Queen East in Riverside/Leslivile, Toronto.
- Big arched windows in the living room and bedroom
- A spacious living area Lots of storage (large bedroom and front hall closets).
- Two-story walk-up (unfortunately it is not accessible)
- The unit is on the top floor
- Meters away from streetcar stops
- The building is run by a responsible and responsive landlord company.
- Galley kitchen with great appliances; al arge fridge and oven, a stainless steel sink, a glass stove top. I also have a microwave, air-fryer and rice cooker (that you can’t see in the photos)
Water included. Hydro and Wi-Fi are not included. Wifi is 20.31 a month. Hydro ranges from 50-100$ a month.

Some other things to consider;
- The big L-shaped desk is going with the current roommate and will open up the space.
- No in-building laundry, however, the laundry mat two blocks away is clean, and fast and the owner is very kind.
- The bedroom faces the main street, so you might hear the cars, the street car at night, and early-morning deliveries. An easy fix with ear plugs, I always sleep with them anyway :)
- No central AC, but I do have a great window AC for the living room and smaller window units for the bedrooms that the past tenets have left. Both bedrooms also have ceiling fans.
- The building is not reliable for package deliveries, but a Canada post with free PO boxs are a block away.
- No official bike storage, but I keep my heavy hybrid bike with an intense lock system in the back. If you are a real biker, light road bike it can be stored on the fire escape or even hung up in the front hall.
I have lived here for three years, so I am here to answer all questions and concerns with full transparency. I love this home and I’m sure you will too!
About the roomies
Hey my name is Yara, I’m 25 and I use she/her and they/them pronouns.
I am looking for a clean and friendly cat person to share my lovely space with. Having a clean space is very important to me, but as you can tell from the photos I am not a minimalist by any means. I keep most of my clutter in my room, but also have catch-alls, hooks and such to keep on top of myself in shared spaces. Importantly, the kitchen and bathroom are on the smaller side, so keeping on top of those spaces is essential.
My cat tuna is almost 2.5. She is very well-behaved and loves new people. People with a cat or small dog are welcome.
I am just about to finish my undergrad (in the next few weeks eeeek). In 2025 I will continue working as a barista and will be applying to master’s programs, internships, ext. I enjoy having little get-togethers like movie, game and craft nights, but I’m not a big drinker/partier. It is important to me that the apartment is a laid-back, calm, social space. I want to be friends with my roommate but also cherish my alone time, and like to put on my headphones and cook myself dinner, or curl up in my room with a book.
I would love to get to know my future roommate, so please reach out with info about yourself. What do you do for work? What are your hobbies? Do you have any pets? I’ll answer any and all questions transparently. Hopefully we can arrange a showing asap, so please let me know what times work best for you.
If you are from out of town, or looking for a shorter-term sublease for travel, work, school ext. please also include that in your message. I am happy to help with looking for a bed, blinds and desk for the bedroom. Otherwise, I will have everything you need (towels, sheets, dishes).
For those less familiar with Riverside the neighbourhood is lovely and very safe with everything you need and more. There is a lot of green space, community events, independent shops and restaurants, numerous gyms and workout studios, farmers markets come spring and more! Aside from the street car, that takes you right to the city center, TMU and UofT, there are reliable buses that go to Pape Station (Subway line 2) and Union Station, making it easy to commute anywhere in the GTA. It is also very close to the Beaches, Greek Town and Sait Lawrence Market.
