Hi roomies! I’m renting a bedroom in my second-floor townhouse apartment in Leaside, near the intersection of Bayview and Eglinton in midtown Toronto. I am looking for someone long-term who would be willing to sign a one-year roommate agreement.

First, the bedroom measures 11 feet by 9 feet, and includes a closet that’s about 4 feet wide and 8 feet high. The room also includes a window air conditioner, and in the winter a small space heater.

The property is a semi-detached home with three floors. My unit is on the top floor, about 900 square feet (huge!) and is accessible by stairs. The building has shared laundry in the basement with a couple on the main floor and another tenant in the lower level. There is no dedicated parking spot available but street parking is ample and virtually never ticketed. We also have lovely neighbours next door, everyone is friendly! There’s also a garage good for storage for things like a bicycle if you have one.

As for the rest of my place, we’d be sharing a small bathroom. It has a large shower but a small sink. The kitchen is huge and full-sized, and includes a dishwasher. The living room has an L-shaped couch, a 65 inch TV with Rogers cable TV + PVR and Internet. There’s a sizeable dining room with a four-seat table, some storage, a coffee area complete with a coffee grinder, a classic drip coffee maker and an espresso maker. Everything besides your bedroom in the unit is fully furnished and decorated but I’d be open to adding your own personal touch if you like, and of course, you’ll need to bring your own furniture and a bed. You’d be sharing just about everything with me with a few exceptions, like food. I’d just ask that we share in some of the cleaning around the house.

You would be paying me directly and I would be taking care of all the utility bills (hydro, cable tv and internet from Rogers.) I have a lease that would remain in my name and we would simply sign a roommate agreement.

The neighbourhood is terrific. It’s quiet yet central, surrounded by multimillion dollar homes and green space (there’s a park just outside our bedroom windows behind the home) and walking trails in Sherwood Park and Sunnybrook Park. Across the street from us is a Metro grocery store, and only a few minutes further are Whole Foods, Shoppers Drug Mart, banks, and other retail. There’s a lovely stretch of retail along Bayview just south of Eglinton that’s part of our neighbourhood!

I’m a single white guy in his late 30s. I’ve lived in Toronto since 2006 and moved to the Leaside neighbourhood two years ago, but have lived in the midtown area for most of my years in the city. I’m quite active and try to spend as much time outside as I can when the weather is good (and even sometimes when it’s not!)

I’m extra clean and tidy. I am an omnivore with no dietary restrictions. I am a non-smoker and ask that you are too. I don’t have any pets and due to nagging allergies I am not able to consider anyone with pets. My hobbies are reading, walking, kickboxing, seeing friends and family, and following the local sports teams.

I’m open to sharing my home with a person who I’ll hopefully become great friends with! I will need to verify some sort of income or funding and I’d ask for last-months rent as a deposit. If you can do that, I’m happy to have someone move in anytime.
