About the room
Hi, my Oakville apartment building was built in 1960 and has seen better days inside and out but there are many good aspects to it. Please be advised that if you are very social this is not the place for you as we do not wish to have guests over. This might seem drastic, but we are both older (58) and home a lot. We value the quiet. When we feel social, we go out to visit others. So again, no guests will be allowed and this must be agreed to in writing. The room is large and private and has a large closet. You could put a pull-out couch in the bedroom and have lots of leftover space for things like a little refrigerator and a microwave to make it like a little apartment. This large room includes a lower fibe TV package but you can record programs to watch at a later time. We’re on the 4th floor facing the South and can receive quite a few free channels from an HD antenna too. Internet is included - not the best package for gaming but it is pretty good and includes unlimited gigs. The room also includes an underground parking spot beside the door to the elevator which is very handy when bringing up groceries and stuff. As noted, the bedroom is quite private with leafy trees in the summer out its window. It faces South towards a public school field so there is a bit of noise during the day from the kids running around the field. The QEW Highway is minutes away by car and the GO station is 5 minutes away on foot. Bus routes are close to the front lobby door as well. There is a Shoppers Drug Mart with post office and food Basics grocery store within a 2 minute walk. One of us is a smoker and neither of us smoke weed but weed smokers and cigarette smokers are welcome. However they must Smoke on the balcony, not in the apartment. I have a cat so if you are allergic to cats this is not the place for you. We are not clean obsessed but expect the person to be tidy in the bathroom and kitchen in particular. This room would be good for people who are seeking temporary lodgings and they could stay here if they were looking for something more suitable for themselves. I’m open to having someone try it out. I can text some pictures if required but would rather you come see the place for yourself.
About the roomies
Not much to say, we are both 58 years old and very simple living. My roommate has lived here for 15 years and is quiet and easy to get along with. He doesnt drink and likes to watch sports, keeps to himself and stays in his room other than to go out or on the balcony for a cigarette. I have decided to rent my room to make ends meet better for myself. I am the leaseholder of the apartment and quite boring too. I’m at home a lot as well and will be staying on the couch in the living room. This is another reason why we don’t want guests over. These living arrangements will allow for each of us to have our own space.
