Hi everyone! I’m a research scientist in microbiology, and am starting a position as a postdoctoral researcher at UBC in August. I am Canadian and also an EU citizen, and can provide landlord references and proof of income as needed.
I’m looking to split a 2+ bedroom apartment or condo with a like-minded (ie. young professional / senior level grad student) roommate, either in downtown or somewhere between mt. pleasant & UBC. Gender doesn’t matter to me, but I like a modern, clean, and organized place, with lots of natural light. My day-to-day life is fairly structured, and I enjoy quiet alone time in the evening, but am also a fairly social guy and would like a roommate who is at least sort of similar.
I know a few people in Vancouver but am pretty new to the city, so I would like a roommate with whom I could ideally be friends. I’m pretty active and outdoorsy (I’m the one in blue, in the picture), and enjoy hiking, camping, kayaking, going to the gym, running, and I’d like to get into indoor climbing as well. I’m also a big foodie and love to explore cocktail bars, see shows at local bars, and explore the urban scene.
I will be working at the university most of the time, but may work from home on the occasional weekday and on Saturdays every other weekend, so a place with enough space for at least a smaller home office is ideal.
