Hello! I’m moving to Calgary for a full-time role and am looking for a room to rent starting Dec 1.

About what I’m looking for: A room in or close to downtown Calgary, close to amenities (grocery, transit, lively neighbourhoods) as I don’t have a car. Ideally furnished. Budget: $800 to $1,000.

A little bit about me:

• I’m 30 years old and work in media/journalism. No office, so I’ll be working at home although there will definitely be days where I’ll have to be out of the house for work assignments.
• My personality: I’m pretty outgoing and friendly and have never had issues getting along with most people. I love a good sense of humor and people who don’t take themselves too seriously.
• Hobbies: I am a voracious reader, expert tv show binger and bake a lot (while sharing the goodies). I’m pretty social and up to try out activities in and around the city. I like having one or a few friends over from time to time but am not big on party hosting (totally fine if you are, as long as it’s not every weekend).
• As a roommate: I’ve lived with a LOT of roommates over the years, so I’m pretty flexible when it comes to house rules. I clean up after myself and do like a clean place. I value communication more than anything since we all live differently and it can take some effort and time to get used to someone else’s style of living.
