My son is off to College in the fall, and I would like to move from Kingston area closer to him and family in the GTA, with my hopes on Port Hope, but also open to both the Newcastle and Cobourg area. I have a car, so I don’t need to be within walking distance to any amenities.

Now that I’m on my own, I only need a small space, and renting a room or small bachelor is what I would prefer. I am a remote bookkeeper who works from home, and would need a corner for my desk in the room.

I may only need to rent a room until about May 2025, but if it’s a bachelor, then I likely would be interested in staying for longer. My ultimate goal is to save for a condo in the area, which is why renting a room will get me to that goal quicker :) As long as the room fits my desk, that’s all I really need! I’m looking for something between $500 to $1000, depending on size and other details.
