I am searching for a private room. I am a clean, neat, and tidy person. I know my way around a kitchen, so shared kitchen privileges are a must for me. I would like assurance of tenancy for 12 months.

My budget: $1,000 or so per month. My income is from the usual retirement sources: OAS/CPP/RIF.

For the past 2+ years, I have shared an apartment in Oshawa. For 6 months before that, I shared a townhouse in Bowmanville.

For 38 years previously, since 1984, I lived in Port Hope. During that time, I owned and lived in 2 houses with my wife and children. After that, I rented and lived in 2 apartments.

My wife and I separated years ago; my 2 children are themselves adults and live independently.

Though I am still licensed to drive and do drive vehicles owned by friends, I gave up owning my own car about 8 years ago. As a result, I want to live within walking distance of food stores and the amenities of a town.

I am in good health, I walk a great deal and, before moving to Oshawa, I rode my bicycle for errands and exercise.

I am by nature a pleasant, quiet person. When at home, I read and listen to music and audio-books on headphones. I am an active senior and have had memberships in various organisations for seniors.
