Phil

Hi there, my name is Phil! I’m going to be looking at moving into a new living arrangement somewhat around the downtown area come May 1st, as my current roommate is graduating. I’ve worked the past 4 years in provincial politics as a constituency manager for the NDP. I have a short-term (4-5yr) plan, and looking to share a space with a like-minded individual.

I’m a very personable guy, I feel like I can get along with all genres of people. I love conversation and listening to the micro-level appreciation everyone has for things I might have not known existed otherwise. I am HYPER self-aware; I had struggled with ADHD in my early teen years and learned a lot about myself and others through group therapy coupled with open and honest social interactions. I’m constantly working to be the best person I can be, and help shine a positive light on others within my circle. I recently lived in Thailand for a couple years, where I traveled around working and volunteering - I had an amazing experience and learned a lot about how to live alone and with other people. Upon coming back, I’ve been working and procrastinating on the right time to hopefully enroll in a course I’ve been eyeing at NAIT.

I love plants, animals of all types, quality music of nearly every production style, and FOOD! Talking about it, watching shows about it, reading books about it, cooking it at home for myself and others, food is a huge part of my life and I’m always going through a different regional cuisine phase. I started bouldering pre-pandemic and am looking for someone equally as bad as me to pair up with! I also have a current hyper fixation with fishing and spend most of my free-time outside. I am very involved with provincial politics (NDP) as well as world events, and love to discuss niche topics but will always remain respectful in any dialogues. I am very cognizant that as an adult if your actions are affecting others negatively it is fully upon you to recognize that and correct accordingly. I am very introspective and thoughtful when it comes to confrontation - I am aware I can be emotionally charged at times but can always reflect on things through a reasonable lens and find it easy to admit wrongdoing. Truthfulness and transparency have become very important to my self-growth and I work hard to keep them the utmost priority moving into new relationships.
